Overview This wonderfully situated hotel is arguably the most family-friendly 5 star in the Canaries. Clever planning has resulted in spacious accommodation, superb facilities including an outstanding children’s club. With many repeat bookings, the Princesa Yaiza is a very popular hotel, particularly among families with 2 or 3 children.
Location The main hotel directly overlooks the Playa Dorada beach, with panoramic views towards Fuerteventura. East of the resort centre towards Papagayo, it’s a 10-minute stroll along the sea front into the heart of the resort. A separate building houses the two bedroom Family Suites.
Relaxation The complex has three outdoor adult swimming pools (2 freshwater and heatable; 1 seawater) and an outdoor jacuzzi surrounded by spacious terraces with lots of loungers and parasols for those long lazy days! “El Chiringuito” pool bar serves drinks during the day, and inside there is the “Mararia” lobby bar, and saloon bar “Mencey”. Extensive lounge and seating areas.
Sports/Games In the dedicated sports area adjacent to the hotel, there is a floodlit tennis court, paddle tennis, beach volleyball, soccer, French boules and a multi-sports court. Also in the Family Suites building, table tennis and billiards. Squash court at the hotel, and a variety of water-sports is available on the beach. (NB Charges apply to some activities).
Dining The hotel offers an impressive selection of dining experiences, including the main Yaiza, the Italian La Piazetta, and the Mexican La Hacienda each of which offers buffet-style breakfasts and dinners with live cooking stations for clients on half board. Two speciality restaurants, the Japanese Kampai and the gourmet Isla de Lobos are additionally available to guests who have chosen the half board de luxe option, subject to prior reservation. It should be noted that all restaurants are subject to closure on a rotation basis depending on demand.
Entertainments There is daytime entertainment for adults and children; and live music in the evening.
Special Features “Thalasso Centre Princesa Yaiza” Health and Fitness Centre with its indoor pool and a range of fitness and beauty treatments including Thalasso and aroma therapy. A unisex hairdresser, newspaper kiosk and shopping gallery add to the many amenities available in and around the hotel. “La Plaza Princesa Yaiza” is located in the area adjacent to the Thalasso Centre and beach, and is dedicated to gastronomy and relaxation. There is an à la carte Italian Restaurant, Don Giovanni; a typical Spanish tapas and wine bar; “La Gelatteria” an ice cream parlour specialising in home made products; and an exclusive and elegant Jazz and Cocktail bar “4 lunas” with live music.
For Children Adjacent to the hotel and alongside the sports centre, the Kikoland children’s club has three separate and secure play areas for children 0 to 2 years, 3 to 11 years, and 12 to 16 years respectively. Each has its own play house, pool and playground with well-trained staff supervising. There are two further freshwater children’s pools, one in the hotel grounds and one by the family suite building. Mini disco every evening and daytime entertainment programme. Mini-club in hotel for 0 to 6 year olds (parental supervision required for under 4s).
Accommodation 330 air conditioned and spacious double rooms, junior suites (open plan with 1 sofa bed: maximum occupancy 2 adults plus 1 child), and one bedroom suites (2 sofa beds: maximum occupancy 2 adults plus 2 children) surround the principal hotel pools area in a “U” formation. Each has a large complete bathroom with hairdryer, bathrobes and slippers, satellite TV, complimentary safe, fridge, balcony/terrace and lateral sea view.
The Family Suites are located in a separate building linked to the hotel by a corridor. They include a master bedroom with complete bathroom, a second bedroom with own shower and wc adjacent, and a spacious lounge with tables, chairs and a convertible sofa for a fifth person. Satellite TV, complimentary safe, fridge, balcony/terrace and pool view are standard. Minimum occupancy 2 adults plus 2 children or 4 adults.
