Overview The first five star hotel on Fuerteventura, the select Elba Palace Golf opened in summer 2002 in the heart of the island’s 18 hole golf course, for which it also serves as the Club House. The architecture is striking, being of typical 19th century Canarian style with beautiful wooden balconies and inner patios with palm trees and tiled floors. Location El Castillo beach is part of the Fuerteventura Golf Club Development, whilst the sandy beach at Caleta de Fuste is about 2 kms from the hotel, with the resort centre and its shops, bars and restaurants around 1km further on. The capital, Puerto del Rosario, is 13 kms north, and the famous Corralejo dunes 35 kms away.
Relaxation The distinctively shaped freshwater swimming pool is surrounded by tiled sun terraces upon which the complimentary sun-loungers and parasols are set out. There is a reading room with a select library and books in several languages, and comfortable lounge. The typical “bodega” has a wide selection of wines, and the Piano Bar is ideal for an aperitif or after dinner drink.
Sports/Games Apart from the golf on the doorstep, there is also a floodlit paddle tennis court, and a variety of watersports available at a charge on the beach. Card room and pool table.
Dining The Restaurant ‘Hoyo 19’ is where you begin the morning with an assorted hot and cold buffet breakfast served on the terrace with magnificent views of the golf course and the Atlantic Ocean. ‘St. Andrews’ is the à la carte restaurant for traditional and international evening meals.
